The Problem

Sales Recruiters, a long-established recruiting firm specializing in engaged direct hire searches, projects, and contingency searches for small and midsize companies, manages a high volume of candidate and client conversations every day.

Executive Recruiter & President Henry Glickel had built a reputation for deep diligence in his interviews, but that thoroughness came with a cost.

Henry was manually taking notes on paper, rewriting them into his ATS, and scanning or typing information back into client-ready summaries. A single intake or candidate interview could require 45 to 90 minutes of follow-up documentation after the call.

“As recruiters, we ask the same core questions over and over,” he explained. “But writing everything down, transcribing, rephrasing, attaching documents, it all added a huge amount of time to every conversation.”

He also needed a way to differentiate himself in a crowded recruiting market. Many of his clients were auditory learners or time-strapped executives who preferred quick, high-signal insights rather than traditional write-ups.

He wanted something more powerful than a basic recording or timestamped transcript, something built specifically for recruiters and not for general knowledge workers.

The Solution

While testing several AI tools like Otter.ai and other general notetakers, Henry discovered Elly and immediately noticed something different.

Elly was not just capturing a call. It was built to understand recruiting.

“What stood out was that Elly was not just a glorified Zoom recording. It was clearly designed for recruiters, staffing agencies, and direct-hire work.”

A few capabilities became invaluable to his workflow:

  • Form-based mapping: Elly populated Henry’s custom recruiting and intake forms automatically even when he did not ask questions in the exact order or wording.
  • Summaries for both clients and candidates: Instead of rewriting interviews, Henry received structured summaries within minutes.
  • Flexibility across interview types: Candidate initial screens, expanded interviews, client intake calls, job order kickoff meetings, Elly adapted to each one.
  • True mobility: Henry could run full interviews while driving, turning previously unproductive time into billable time.
“I literally went from being parked at a desk with a clipboard to being able to do full interviews on the road. In a six-hour drive, I made two and a half hours productive.”

Elly’s instant reprocessing also became essential. If Henry forgot to select the correct form before an interview, which was common given his firm’s many templates, he simply switched the form afterward. Elly re-listened, re-mapped the information, and reconstructed the entire interview automatically.

The Results

Elly dramatically reduced Henry’s documentation workload and helped him stand out to clients.

What once took 45 to 90 minutes of follow-up now took about five minutes.
A typical day with three interviews returned more than two hours of reclaimed time.

The biggest impact came in how he presented candidates to clients.

Instead of sending a resume and a short summary, Henry now shares:

  • the interview transcription
  • the structured form responses
  • an optional recording they can listen to while commuting or traveling

This became a major differentiator.

“Most write-ups are just a recruiter’s opinion,” Henry explained. “With Elly, clients see the real answers to the real questions. It sets us apart.”

Clients consistently comment on the clarity, professionalism, and transparency of the new format. New clients, especially those short on time, see an immediate improvement in the evaluation process.

Elly also accelerated internal collaboration. Every recruiter at Sales Recruiters can now review a candidate or client call by reading the notes, scanning the form, or listening to the audio without needing to join the meeting live.

Even for troubleshooting or workflow questions, Henry describes Elly as “extremely forgiving,” with support that responds quickly and a system that adapts as his team evolves.

“Elly makes me more efficient, saves me 45 minutes per meeting, and helps me stand out among other recruiters. It is worth every penny.”
